The Information Gathering for Professional

                1. Collect and process information relevant to the objective site.



                2. Above ground information at and surrounding the site – surface


                        topography, drainage patterns, road and transportation

                        characteristics, sewerage trunk mains, water supply mains, power


                        and telecommunications availability etc.



                3. Subsurface information (usually limited to within the site) –


                        immediate subsurface soil characteristics, ground water and


                        bedrock elevation and characteristics.
