WELCOME TO OUR 100TH ANNUAL MEETING
Dear Chamber members and guests:
Thank you for joining us today at the Morris Chamber’s 100 Annual
th
Meeting! Today we gather to honor our members and the community that we
have created. We celebrate a century of accomplishments and the resiliency
of an organization that has endured recessions and wars, and now a
pandemic. When the Chamber pivoted to a virtual business model in March
2020, we found new ways to interact with our members. In many ways we
grew more connected during this time.
I am grateful to our outgoing chair Trish O’Keefe, President of Morristown
Medical Center, for her leadership these past two years both of the Chamber
Board and also at the medical center. I would like to take a moment to thank
and acknowledge all of Morris County’s frontline heroes who are serving and caring for us during this
challenging time.
Morris County is truly an economic engine for the country with a $60 billion gross regional product and
more than 800 headquarter locations. In 2020, the Chamber welcomed 120 new members and offered
400 virtual events, meetings, webinars, and networking opportunities as we continued to fulfill our
mission to connect, convene, facilitate, inform, collaborate and advocate for our members.
We are committed to providing opportunities for members to raise their visibility in leadership roles as
committee chairs, event chairs and ambassadors. I invite you to explore the many opportunities that the
Chamber provides by visiting our website and connecting with our membership support team. I am
excited to work with the Chamber’s incoming chair Tom Serluco, Partner, KPMG, the chamber board,
volunteer leaders, and the chamber team on new initiatives to continue to bring value to our members.
I am proud of the programs and services that we have launched including digital marketing opportunities
for members to promote their businesses, our “Connect to Morris” job board and masterminds such as
the Executive Councils that provide resources for businesses to thrive. I am grateful for the many
partnerships that the Chamber has including with the Morris County Board of County Commissioners and
the county’s largest employers through our Morris Business Cabinet.
Reflecting on how far we have come gives us the endurance to continue the climb onward and upward. I
ask you to spread the word about the vibrancy of our 100 year young Chamber and how your business
has benefited - a place for both for-profit and not-for-profit businesses to connect and grow!
Sincerely,
Meghan Hunscher
