MEGHAN HUNSCHER
President & CEO
Morris County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Corporation
Meghan Hunscher serves as the President & CEO of the Morris County
Chamber of Commerce, leading a premiere regional business association
celebrating its 100th year. Meghan also oversees the Morris County
Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), which she previously led
for four years. The MCEDC is a division of the Chamber and a public/
private partnership between the Chamber, the County Commissioners and
the business community.
The Chamber represents thousands of employees in Morris County and
surrounding counties and states and is responsible for more than ten
active committees and programs. Under her purview is the Business and
Education Together (BET) Foundation, the Morris County Economic Development Alliance
(MCEDA) and Chamber programs and initiatives that include Leadership Morris, Women in
Business, Executive Councils, MentorMorris, ThriveMorris, and MorrisMastermind. Under her
leadership, the Chamber successfully pivoted its business model to a virtual chamber during the
COVID crisis. Mindful of the Chamber’s long history of being community-focused, she champions
collaboration and partnerships throughout the county and in 2020, the Morris Chamber was named
“Business Partner of the Year” by the Morris County Vocational School District.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Meghan practiced as a Professional Planner, working with
communities and developers as a land use planning consultant and expert witness for both
municipal and private clients in the tristate area. She also has experience working in the public
sector, having served as the principal planner for the Township of Montville overseeing the Planning
and Zoning Department where she worked closely with multiple constituencies including residents,
volunteers, developers, colleagues, consultants, state and county agencies and the governing body
to effect change. She also served on her local planning board and was also elected to two terms as
president of the New Jersey Association of Planning and Zoning Administrators for four years, a
statewide association with more than 300 members.
She currently serves on a number of non-profit boards including the Morristown Medical Center
(Atlantic Health System) Community Advisory Board, the Morris County Tourism Bureau, the United
Way of Northern New Jersey, and the Corporate Leadership Council for the Cornerstone Family
Programs & Morristown Neighborhood House. She is also a board member of the Morris /
Sussex / Warren Workforce Development Board. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the
University of Pennsylvania where she also received her master’s degree in City and Regional
Planning with a concentration in Economic Development.
