From the President…

Hello Members and welcome to Spring 2023!

I hope each and every one of you are prospering.

If you attended our Town Hall last fall or Open Town Hall earlier this year, I announced that we
successfully held our first in-person Board meeting last September in Scottsdale, Arizona while we
supported one of our State Association Members, Arizona Association of Licensed Private Investigators
(AALPI). It was our Annual Meeting and we also held our elections.

Our Spring Mid-Term meeting will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in conjunction with SCALI’s Spring
conference. The NCISS Board will meet on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 8:00 AM. I encourage everyone to join the NCISS
Mid-Term meeting and it will be free of charge for NCISS Members to attend. SCALI has graciously extended NCISS
Members the same discount code available to the SCALI Members for the conference. Additionally, Members can stay at
the Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort at a discounted rate. Please go to SCALI’s website at:
www.scalinv.com and click on the tab for the Spring Conference. NCISS is hosting the Welcome Reception for SCALI’s
Conference on Wednesday, May 3rd. I look forward to seeing you all there!

The NCISS Board is continuing to watch proposed legislation affecting privacy (including American Data Privacy and
Protection Act), The Open Courts Act, and the Modern Worker Empowerment Act to name a few. While the latest Data
Privacy Protection Act died in a previous Congress, it is only a matter of time before similar bills are introduced.

Finally, we are continuing on with our complimentary Coffee & Conversations and Education webinars for the Members.
We have upcoming education for Testifying in Court, Conducting Legislator Virtual Meetings, a Virtual Hit the Hill, Work
Place Investigations panel and Investigator’s Toolbox Tips and Tricks. Make sure to check out our calendar on the
website and look for invitations to join those events. We are able to provide continuing education certificates for those
