        Per Mar Celebrates 65th Anniversary
Per Mar Security Services celebrated its 65th anniversary on October 31st. In 1953, John and
Eleanor Duffy founded Per Mar on the front porch of their home at 804 Iowa St. in Davenport,
IA. Per Mar is still headquartered in Davenport and is the largest family-owned, full-service
security company in the Midwest with 2,400 employees and 23 branch locations.

Brad Duffy, President of Security Officer Services for Per Mar, stated, “It is amazing that this
company that was started on a front porch 65 years ago has grown to be a leading provider of
security services in the Midwest. Although
much has changed in the industry, our
success can be attributed largely to the way
we treat employees and customers, which is
the foundation the company has been built on.”

Still family owned and operated, Per Mar has roots with the founding
of NCISS. John Duffy was the first NCISS President, and the highest
award from NCISS, the John J. Duffy Memorial Achievement Award is
named in his honor. Current Per Mar President and CEO, John’s son, is
a NCISS Past President, and Brad Duffy is the current NCISS President.

NCISS 2 VP, Chris Reynolds, shared this CALI update:
Since June 2018, CALI hosted its 50th Anniversary Annual Conference in Long Beach CA. NCISS was strongly represented
by Terry Myer, Michael Julian and other supportive members. CALI has been monitoring consumer privacy legislation
that could have a negative impact on investigators and data collection in California. We anticipate the current law from
the bill could be used as a model for other states. Here is a link to a Wired Magazine story outlining these issues, for
which NCISS is preparing to monitor and advocate for members – www.wired.com/story/california-privacy-bill-tech-
        lobbying.

CALI also sponsored a four-day training in Los Angeles for a POST certified course on background investigations. The
event was oversold and CALI plans to schedule another event in Northern California next year.
