From the President…

                              Greetings NCISS,

It’s hard to believe it has been 6 months into this term and I am grateful every day for this
opportunity to serve our investigative and security professionals as your NCISS President. I am
pleased by the progress we have made towards the mission set out for this year. We have come
together as a strong association, growing and gaining back our momentum post pandemic. It is
energizing to see how more and more members are participating and engaging in the legislative
advocacy process. Members of all backgrounds, experience levels and political views are coming
together for a common goal, to support this profession we love and preserve its value.

Our dedicated and hard-working Board has been behind the scenes doing everything from fighting legislative battles,
planning and organizing our big Hit the Hill event, creating high quality educational content for professional
development, increasing member benefits and keeping our members informed with the landscape of our profession.

We are privileged to have the strongest legislative team in the United States working for you. I’m humbled by the work
and vigor of the top brass in this country coming together for the common cause- that is monitoring and guiding
legislation for the investigative and security professionals, and making legislative advocacy accessible to the everyday PI.

These volunteer men and women of the NCISS Board serve without compensation, fanfare and often with personal and
professional sacrifice. They do so because they understand the importance of keeping us front and center on legislation
that can impact our ability to do our jobs in our vital roles of assisting society and the equitable operations of the legal
system. I thank every one of our team members for their dedication. Also, please join me in thanking our amazing
Executive Director, Karen Beers, who without her we would not have a well-run organization and someone at the helm
getting important operational tasks handled. She is an absolute rockstar!

Finally, I look forward to seeing you all at Hit the Hill May 5-7, 2024 in Washington D.C. This will be our first time back in
person since 2019 and we have an excellent event planned for you! Plus, this is a major legislative year so we need a big
presence in order to educate lawmakers on who we are and what we do. In this way they will better understand the
importance of our access to data and need to subcontract work to each other. I challenge us to have all 50 states
represented! Please register now if you haven’t yet done so.

Thank you to each and every one of our amazing NCISS members. Without you, we would not have this amazing and
important association. Your membership and involvement drive the purpose of what we do, and will carry on these
        professions for generations to come.

        Cordially,
        Kelly Cory, NCISS President
