Interview with TORBEN & PETER
Hello Torben & Peter from Decoy and welcome to
Rocknation. Let’s start off with your “Without Warning”
CD. Please tell us about some of the tracks.
TORBEN: Well, most of the songs on this album are about
love in one way or another, and this certainly goes for “In And
Out Of Love”, “Fire’s Gone” and “How Was I To Know”. “Fire’s
Gone” is about losing the passion for something (or someone)
and the struggle that goes along with coming to terms with
something like that. “In And Out Of Love” and “How Was I To
Know” are both fairly basic love songs about a love that you
knew wasn’t really meant to be. “Fire’s Gone” is darker,
whereas “In And Out Of Love” and “How Was I To Know” comes
from a place of acceptance.
Where did you record the “Without Warning” CD and who
was the producer?
TORBEN: The majority of the album was recorded in my own
studio, “Funny Farm Studios”. The vocals however were
recorded by Peter himself in his own studio. I mixed, mastered
and produced the album myself.
How do you compare your last “Call of the Wild” CD released 15 years ago to this one?
PETER: Call of the wild are a little heavier more hardrock compare to Without warning who are more
AOR Melodic rock Torben did a wonderful job with the songs and the arrangement.
Peter & Torben what bands are your
influences?
PETER: I come from perhaps a little softer
world than Torben my influences are Toto, MSG,
Streets, Kansas & Eagles.
TORBEN: My influences include Purple,
Sabbath, Van Halen, Journey, Toto, Malmsteen,
Dokken, Giant, Mr. Big, Dream Theater,
Symphony X and the list just pretty much goes
on and on...
