MARGRITT
Hello Eddie and welcome to Rocknation. Your “Love, Hate and Deception”
CD was released last year are you currently writing songs for your next
release?
We have been super busy doing shows to promote “Love, Hate And
Deception”. We have only had one weekend off since the cd came out last
year so we really haven’t had a chance to start working on any new songs MAD MARGRITT with Barry Barnes
yet. After the summer is over we plan to get together and start writing again.
The first video was “Liar” and you thinking about doing another video for this release?
We will be doing at least one more video, possibly two before the end of the year. The plan is to shoot a video for the song “The One You
Love To Hate” sometime in the next month or two. We are currently scouting locations, looking for a cool looking place to shoot the video.
We may also shoot a video for one of the ballads. We haven’t decided yet which ballad we are gonna do the video for but we have never made
a video for any of our ballads so we are definitely giving it some consideration.
Mad Margritt appeared at the Pre-Grammy party at the Viper room in Hollywood please tell us about that.
We had an amazing time! We flew into Las Vegas a few days before the Pre-Grammy show and did a short set at Count’s Vamp’d. We stayed
in Vegas for a few days and then drove out to Hollywood. It was really cool hanging out on the Sunset Strip and checking out all the famous
clubs. We spent a lot of time at The Rainbow, that seemed to be the place we ended up at the end of every night. The highlight of the week
was the Pre-Grammy party at The Viper Room. That was such an amazing night, we had so much fun playing that show! A lot of our west
coast fans came out to see us so we had a really good crowd. Everyone was wearing their Mad Margritt t-shirts so that was really cool to
see!!
Have you ever played in Hollywood before?
No, that was the first time. We have played Vegas a few times before but this was our first time playing in Hollywood. We are hoping to get
back out there again soon, possibly later this year.
What was Vegas like playing at Vamp’s a very famous rock club?
I’ve been wanting to play there for a while so it was really cool to finally get out there. Some of the guys from the Count’s 77 band were there
so we got to meet them. The bass player Barry Barnes was super cool to us and hung out with us all night. We also got to meet Doug Aldrich
(Whitesnake, Dio, The Dead Daisies) and Phil Soussan (Dio, Billy Idol). We came back the next night and watched their Zeppelin Tribute band
“The Moby Dicks”. They put on an amazing show and Doug just killed it on the guitar. Best Zeppelin tribute show that I have ever seen!!
Did you band get a chance to check out Counts Kustoms while in Vegas?
We did, the next day after the Count’s Vamp’d show Barry gave us a tour of the place. He also gave us a private tour of the bands recording
studio and rehearsal area. He talked to us about possibly recording some stuff out there so hopefully we can get that all worked out.
What plans do you have for 2017?
We are just focused on doing live shows right now and promoting the “Love, Hate And Deception” cd. We are talking with some promoters
up in New York so we may be doing some shows up in that area again soon. After we got back from the west coast trip we did a bunch of
shows around the southeast. We played a few casinos recently and even performed on a cruise ship. Had a blast doing those shows so we
are looking at doing some more stuff like that before the year is out.
Thank you for taking time for this interview any last words to the fans?
We always appreciate the support we get from our fans. We have been doing this for a long time and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon
so there will be a lot more Mad Margritt music coming at you!!!
