Before making his big move to Liverpool, Mac Allister joined Brighton from Argentinian side Argentinos Juniors during the 2019 January transfer window for a fee of £8 Million. He finished the 2019 season on loan back at Argentinos Juniors. Then the following season he spent his time on loan back in Argentina again, but this time with Boca Juniors he excelled so much that brighton decided to bring him back 4 months before his loan was ending to help Brighton stay in the premier league during the 2020/21 season.
FAMILY ORIGINS - Liverpool’s new signing, has Irish roots despite his Argentine nationality. The 24-year-old midfielder, generated a lot of curiosity among fans due to his surname not sounding typically South American. His father and agent, Carlos, who played for Boca Juniors and represented Argentina, explained in an interview that their family migrated from Ireland to Argentina generations ago.
PLAYING WITH LEGENDS - Alexis Mac Allister’s family has had the rare opportunity of playing with their country’s iconic stars not once, but twice. His father, Carlos, had the privilege of playing alongside Argentine legend Diego Maradona at Boca Juniors. of playing together at Argentinos Juniors. This family connection highlights the strong soccer tradition within their family. Along with their father, Carlos Mac Allister, The midfielder’s uncle Patricio Mac Allister also played for various clubs across Argentina, Mexico and Japan, but never featured for the international side.
WORLD CUP EXPERIENCE - Mac Allister remarkable performances during the 2022 World Cup, which culminated in Argentina’s triumphant win, were widely witnessed. However, He is not a newcomer to the World Cup. In fact, he had already participated for his nation at the U-20 level during the 2019 Tournament.
