KILKER - MR LEATHER UK
What is like to be a title holder?
I think there is a lot of misconception
out there: while some people see title
holders as freaks and beauty pageants,
other people see it as a mandatory full time
job. I would say it’s more like a voluntary
work that has its good and bad things.
Not every title holder is the same,
obviously, and I think each and everyone
brings something different in his title year
and is equally valid to the legacy that the
previous one left. Some people think we’re
stuck up people but the truth is we’re
people just like everyone else, with our
strengths, weaknesses, and of course,
insecurities and shyness too.
How did you get into it?
I met Sly Hands by chance at Gatwick
airport where I was working in summer
2011. He was flying to Scotland if I
remember well and we connected well. He
told me about “Mister Leather UK” that was
being organised in Manchester and he was
very persistent so I agreed in competing.
I didn’t expect to win being Spanish myself,
but just visiting Manchester for the first time
and have a little bit of fun. But it happened.
So I went along with it and continued my
journey by winning “Mister Leather Europe
2012”a year after. And the rest is history.
What is the best thing of being a Mister?
I would say meeting so many people from
all over the world and discovering that
each and everyone understands fetish
in a different way. Also, after you’ve
finished with your title year, you’ve gained
confidence in speaking in front of an
audience. I am also bit shy when I go to
fetish events, so having people recognising
you helps to break the ice at some events,
which I really appreciate.
