PP Hartnett (born 1958) is an Irish writer, spoken word performer and literary
editor. In terms of fiction, Hartnett's sharp focus is upon sexual compulsion,
extreme fixation and emotional damage, written from a moral
perspective. His most notable commercial successes have been the
works Call Me (Pulp Books, 1996), I Want to Fuck You (Pulp Books,
1998), Mmm Yeah (Pulp Books, 1999), Sixteen (Sceptre, 2002) and Rock 'n'
Roll Suicide (Sceptre, 2004), selected as BOOK OF THE WEEK in The
Times upon publication. Hartnett's recent download titles
include Deletion (Autopsy, 2015), Full Screen (Autopsy, 2016) and the
series SEX : MALE (Autopsy, 2017) which contains works such as Poz Me
Up and You Bitches and Needs Discussion.

'Way back between 1985 and 1995 I played havoc with the contact ads in
pretty much every publication in the UK. I created exactly one hundred
characters that I sometimes became for a rendezvous. I ticked the boxes of
many a fetish fetish, from a Lycra-clad cyclist to fist fuck top. That led to the
             writing of Call Me.

In June, 2024, three days before my sixty sixth birthday, I decided to similarly
present a full-on false self via a number of cruise fetish sites with the
username of balaclavabareback, aged thirty three, half my age. For the
profile pics I sourced balaclavas from a Derry dealer, a jockstrap from
Prowler. I removed all my body hair with tube after tube of Nair to then strike
a pose in a Travelodge, waiting for the auto-timer to click. I selfie-promoted
as a BDSM FF top on PrEP with a broad range of interests including breath
control. Positioning as a fuck club sodomite, I was totally myself and totally
not myself, laying bait to provoke a response. In came all manner of
viewpoints, requests, personal disclosures. Online, you can be anyone, of
any age, into anything. All very AYOR.'
