College Counseling
Program
The College Counseling Program at Divine Savior Academy assists students in their development as lifelong students of Christ. Our college counselors guide students throughout the career- and college-planning process. Ultimately each student is equipped and assisted to pursue the college and degree program of choice.
The college planning process is a team effort. Students, parents, and counselors all have a role to play in the process. When we work together, our students are able to complete the journey with confidence and, ultimately, success.
How we
work together...
Parents help their
students by attending college counseling events and meetings, reading college counseling communications, and familiarizing themselves with their children’s college plans and upcoming deadlines. Parents play a vital role in both ensuring their children complete their yearly checklist
and providing positive encouragement along
the way.
Students are ultimately the ones who take the college planning journey. Along the way, they learn who they are by taking a variety of personality, skills, and standardized assessments. This helps them tailor their individual plans and checklists, choose their class schedules and extracurriculars, and apply to the college programs that fit their personal goals. Throughout their journey, they are encouraged through one-on-one sessions with their college counselors, visits to college campuses, opportunities to meet with on-site college representatives, and the continual support of the DSA faculty.

College Planning
School
Counselors meet with each student to plan a college counseling path that is tailored to their unique abilities, personality, and goals. This path is outlined by a clearly defined checklist of items for both students and their parents to complete during each year of high school. Our counselors are equipped with the most current college information, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid options. Most importantly, our counselors are committed to supporting students and their families throughout the process with proactive communication and individual attention.
