Jean R. Izant

Jean began her scouting years as a Brownie leader around 1962
for the then Lake Erie Council. She followed both her daughters
through their Junior and Cadette scouting as their leader. By
then, her girls were launched into their Senior Scout years and
she continued on as a GS volunteer. The list seems endless of
all her contributions and roles from cookie chairman to council
delegate at the national convention. She loved it all. One of
the most important contributions Jean made was starting a
troop for the mentally handicapped girls of Miliken and the East
Cleveland Development Center. As a teacher’s assistant, Jean
saw the need and value of Girl Scouting being offered to this
special and often forgotten group of girls. It was her passion
and she continued to carry the troops a few years past her
retirement.

Pat Jarchow

Pat gave the greatest gift to Girl Scouting -- herself. She
epitomized Girl Scout friendship, service, loyalty and
dedication. Her “can do” attitude instilled confdence and
inspired others to do their very best on behalf of the council.
Pat’s dedicated service to Girl Scouting lingers in the hearts of
those whose lives she touched.
