AND CAPTIONS
Stories take up a tremendous amount of time and resources. For
publications looking to condense the yearbook experience without
compromising journalistic integrity, consider taking a look at how written
content is taught and presented.
Books that have space constraints or limited training time, like those
of clubs and middle schools, may wish to forgo traditional story writing
and work with a system of modules, quotes, profiles, and alternative
copy. Some publications even choose to write captions only, thus
keeping with the standards for scholastic journalism by conducting
research and relevant interviews.
