Baron Philippe de Rothschild is a family-owned company with a Supervisory Board chaired by
Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, alongside his sister , Camille Sereys de Rothschild and his brother ,
Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild.
It has two distinct lines of business, châteaux wines and branded wines united under a single
management in the same pursuit of excellence.
The company manages three classified growths from the Pauillac region in south-west France,
including the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild. It also produces and sells a range of
high-quality branded wines which it sources from 453 partner winegrowers in the major
Bordeaux appellations, foremost among them the famous Mouton Cadet, the world’s
biggest selling Bordeaux branded wine.
On Baron Philippe‘s death in 1988, Baroness Philippine de
Rothschild, his only child, inherited not only a treasure,
shared with her three children Camille, Philippe and Julien,
but also a heavy responsibility. A well-known actress, she
ended her stage career in order to continue her father’s
work, while resolutely bringing Mouton and the family
company, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, into the 21st
Baron Philippe and Baroness Philippine de Rothschild century.
On Baroness Philippine's death in 2014, having
brilliantly enhanced the lustre of the family company and
estates, Baroness Philippine left Mouton magnificently
enlarged and modernised. Now her three children, Camille
Sereys de Rothschild,Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and
Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild, co-owners of the
Château, are likewise perpetuating their mother’s
dedication to excellence.
