La Crema is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley in Sonoma and is dedicated to the production of the
Burgundian varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. La Crema winery was founded in 1979 and then bought by
Jess Jackson And his wife Barbara Banke in 1993.
La Crema explores these two varieties across various cool-climate appellations including Sonoma Coast, Russian
River Valley, Monterey and most recently Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Each wine showcases the nuances of its
own specific AVA but maintains a characteristic sophistication and elegance for which La Crema has become
known.
The coolest vineyards are at the northernmost tip of the valley, where Pinot
Noir develops remarkable aromatic and textural complexity with crisp, firm
structural elements.
Winemaker Craig Mcallister (See photo Right) – there is never a dull moment in
winemaking. From the rush and intensity of harvest, to bottling the wines and
taking them to market. He believes that the best wines are those shared with
family and friends over a delicious meal
LA CREMA MONTEREY PINOT NOIR
100% Pinot Noir – from Californian sub regions;
Monterey
Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels
Tasting note: A complex nose that offers up both Savory
and sweet tones; ripe plum and forest floor aromas are
highlighted by notes of violet and cocoa powder. On the
palate, pomegranate and blackberry take centre stage,
highlighted by notes of anise and Mocha. The well-
integrated acidity and fine-grained tannins create an
elegantly structured wine.
