A Proposal to Extend the Chick-fil-A Westside Service Scholarship Program

                                                Morehouse School of Medicine

For more than 40 years, Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) has developed an esteemed reputation for
educating and graduating the healthcare leaders the world needs most — those dedicated to caring for
people and our communities. This mission has only expanded through the growth of our student body. Our
students along with the faculty and staff leave a meaningful economic and social impact on the Westside
community. Especially with the development of Entra Westside, a development that many students would
not be able to enjoy without Chick-fil-A’s generosity. Thank you for caring for our students by easing their
financial burdens and providing them with housing scholarships.

            Entra: West End

We are grateful for our growth, as it speaks to the quality of education here at Morehouse School of
Medicine. However, as you know we do not provide on-campus housing for our students. So as a response,
we developed a 7.2-acre tract of land in the Westside of Atlanta, within walking distance of our campus.
Transforming this space into a modern student housing community named: Entra: West End. It is a five-
story, 190-unit, 342-bed, multi-family residential, food, beverage, and other light-retail development. It
includes a state-of-the-art health clinic and fitness facility. Due to the scholarship you provided, our
students have access to this beautiful development.

Gratitude for Your Partnership of Care

We constructed Entra with our students’ needs in mind, and your partnership has given us the capacity to
execute our vision. As our students pursue a rigorous, culturally competent education – you have helped
their housing become a beacon of retreat instead of a source of financial stress. It is a springboard of safety
that allows them to dream big while they pursue their education. It’s our hope that in addition to
convenience and comfort, our students experience comradery and collaboration at Entra. Your generosity
has provided direct support to the practitioners that will eventually provide world-class care for
            underrepresented communities.

Thank you for the way your gracious gift support for our students. In the 2020-2021 school year, we were
able to provide 85 students with housing scholarships. During the 2021-2022 school year, we afforded 97
students with scholarships (51% of them were repeat recipients). So far, we have provided students with
$419,700 of scholarship money, and by the end of the academic term, we expect to award another $60,000.
We look forward to providing the same financial reprieve to our students for the 2022-2023 school year.
All of this would not be possible without the Chick-fil-A Westside Service Scholarship Program. We would
love the opportunity to further this partnership and provide this scholarship for more students, for years to
            come.

MSM and Chick-fil-A share: A Shared Commitment to the Westside
