MIND YOUR ASSET

                                    STEP 4: CREATING RELATIONAL CAPITAL

Relational capital is born from relationships that are formed.

Once a level of trust is established, you may even do business together on the back of an
            established relationship.

When sharing common interests with people before speaking about possible business or work
opportunities, I find they are more approachable and open to listening.

There are 3 essential qualities that are at work as you create
relational capital in every one of your business relationships.

            1. Authenticity – Being who you truly are and aspiring to become is important. People see
through what is real or not. It’s only a matter of time.

            2. Credibility – Being credible and trusted is possibly one of the most important qualities. I
believe that intrinsically we are all good and we should display this quality of our inner good.
When you build a reputation of being credible, it creates a platform for future growth and
                 expansion.

            3. Integrity – Having strong moral principles is always a good building block as it defines who you
                 are.

Choosing a business can be influenced by relational capital.

If you already have a relationship with a successful business person, you may find that you can
learn from their success and possibly start a business in a specific industry. The relationship may
add value in the form of an investor, loan or introduction to other successful people. Hence the
above relationship may influence starting a business along similar lines or in a similar industry.
