STEP 1: ARE YOU AN ENTREPRENEUR?
“The best way to predict the future, is to create it.”
- Abraham Lincoln
“For me, an Entrepreneur is an individual who sees opportunity and seeks solutions to convert
that opportunity into profitable business.”
You need to make hard choices about what you want to do and what you don’t want to do.
Deciding what you will do is the most important decision you can make. You need to have a
burning desire to make it happen!
Unless you truly want to make something happen, the odds are, nothing will. Without that
desire, nothing else matters… or occurs.
It’s often not the most intelligent Entrepreneurs who make great strides in life and business,
but rather the Entrepreneur who has determination, perseverance and a good ability to
connect with people in one’s organization as well as across the business value chain.
The most important decision you can make is where you spend your time. You only have so
much time, energy and ability to focus. That means, as much as you would like to, you can’t
do everything. The areas which receive your full attention will do better than the areas that
don’t.
Always take ‘calculated risks’, being aware of the downside.
In my life after the past 21 years – Spinal Cord Injury, viz. “Quadriplegia” – directed my focus into
motivational speaking and the property business.
Having jointly started and run my own retail business for several years, I stacked up skills and
knowledge which I now apply to the retail, commercial, residential and industrial property market.
I really enjoy the challenge of taking a distressed property and turning it into a vibrant, energized
and uplifting asset. The opportunity to leverage debt against an asset with an income stream
makes good business sense to me because I know how to build wealth that way.
