Building the Mentally Tough Athlete
Mental Toughness is the ability to cope with pressure, the ability to rebound from failure, a determination to persist in the face of adversity, and a form of mental resilience.
Everything that happens in a competitive situation takes place in an integrated manner, under the pressure of time/score/distance, with your opponents fully motivated to prevent you from doing things you want to do, in an effort to beat you, and to enhance their feelings of success at your expense if necessary. This occurs in few other areas of life and we are often ill equipped to deal with it.
How would rate on a scale of 1 - 10 the collective mental toughness of your team?
