Prepare Before Reading
Do you know What does
who is he? he look like?
In this unit you will learn about factual descriptions of a person. You write a description
when you want your reader to picture what you are describing. Factual description of a
person is a text that explains about whether a person is like, and others.
A factual description mainly consists of three parts, i.e., a general statement about the
subject functioning as an identification or introduction, a series of paragraphs about the
subjects, and a concluding paragraph. Identification serves to introduce to readers about
the object that we will explain, before we tell in more detail about the object in the next
paragraph. The second part consists of several paragraphs, each of which describes one
feature of the subject such as height, weight, physical appearance, or anything related to
what the writer describe. The last part is optional, and contain the conclusion of the text.
The language feature of a factual description of a person includes verbs in the present tense
and adjectives to describe the features of the subject.
