编后话 Editor’s Epilogue

2018年,我有幸回到上罗乐——我的高曾祖父165年前离开的故乡,并在那里见到了作者
的父亲和其他宗亲。这次寻根之旅得益于我曾祖父所编写的家谱,让我找到了我们的祖籍地。
这不仅是一场追溯家族历史的旅程,也让我深入体验了我们的文化与传统。
其中最让我印象深刻的是我们在西阳镇享用的一顿地道又美味的客家午餐。这些菜肴非常
独特,其中大多数的菜品都是我在马来西亚从未尝试过的。这次经历让我对我们的传统文化有
了更深的联系。
我非常自豪也感到很开心,能够与作者合作——按照家族辈分,他是我的侄孙——一起向
更多人介绍传统的客家美食。我们希望通过努力,将这些令人赞叹的菜肴和背后的故事分享给
更多人,让大家了解并欣赏客家文化的丰富内涵。
通过这项工作,我们希望能够传承这些宝贵的传统,同时也鼓励更多人去探索和珍惜自己
的家族文化。
In 2018, I had a special opportunity to meet the author’s father and other clan mem-
bers when I visited Shangluole, the hometown of my great-great-grandfather. He left this
place 165 years ago, and I was able to trace it thanks to the genealogy book written by my
great-grandfather. This visit wasn’t just a journey to my roots but also a chance to experience
our family’s history and culture.
One of the highlights of the trip was the authentic and delicious Hakka lunch we had at Xi
Yang Zhen. The dishes were incredibly unique and almost all of them were unlike anything I
had ever tasted in Malaysia. It was a truly wonderful experience that deepened my connection
to our heritage.
I feel proud and happy to work with the author, who, by family generation, is my
grand-nephew, to introduce traditional Hakka cuisine to more people. Together, we want to
share these amazing dishes and the stories behind them so that more people can understand
and appreciate the richness of Hakka culture.
Through this effort, we hope to preserve these traditions and inspire others to explore
and cherish their own family heritage.
