            八宝窝鸭是兴宁的特色菜肴。在过去,农村宴席的档次高低,常以是否有“窝鸡”或“窝
            鸭”来衡量。改革开放前,兴宁籍刁老板在广州经营“东江饭店”,其中八宝窝鸭及东江盐
            焗鸡被誉为东江双绝,成功征服了省城食客的味蕾。

            ■ Dish Story
            Stuffed duck is a specialty of Xingning. In the past, the quality of a rural banquet was judged by
            whether stuffed chicken or duck was served. Before the reforms, Mr. Diao from Xingning operated
            the “Dongjiang Restaurant” in Guangzhou. His dishes, particularly the Eight Treasures Stuffed Duck
            and Dongjiang Salt-Baked Chicken, became celebrated as the two marvels of Dongjiang, winning
            the hearts and palates of diners in the provincial city.
