Master Xuan Zang

纪念⽞奘⼤师

Xuan Zang was a Buddhist scholar, translator in the Tang

Dynasty, and the founder of Chinese Yogacara School. His

journey to India was painstaking and reflected the strong

determination in quest of Dhamma. On 4 September 2016,

China Post launched the “Xuan Zang Memorative Stamp” at

the Dacien Temple in Xi’an, and donated a full-page

permanent collection of the “Xuan Zang” stamp to the Dacien

Temple. The temple was the place where Xuan Zang in

charged of construction of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and did

his translation works here in 1300 years ago.

⽞奘，唐代佛教学者、翻译家、佛教法相宗创始⼈，被尊称为“三藏法

师”。中国唐代⽞奘西⾏取经，历尽磨难，体现了中国⼈学习域外⽂化的

坚韧精神。2016年9⽉4⽇，中国邮政在西安⼤慈恩寺举⾏《⽞奘》邮票

⾸发仪式，并于现场捐赠⼤慈恩寺整版《⽞奘》邮票永久珍藏。西安⼤

慈恩寺是1300年前，⽞奘法师主持修建⼤雁塔并译经弘法的地⽅。
