 Annular: When the thickening is in the form of rings at intervals.

 Spiral: When the wall shows a spiral line of thickening.
 Reticulate: When the thickening of the walls takes the form of
network.

 Pitted: When the whole wall becomes thickened except of numerous
small areas or pits which are usually bordered.
 Scalariform: Pits are transversely elongated giving a ladder- like
appearance.
