- 4 Reduction of Barfoed's solution

* Barfoed's solution is composed of 5% cupric acetate/acetic acid.

* Positive for monosaccharides only, - ve with reducing disaccharides.

* Heat on W.B. for 3 min., the result is red ppt. on the wall of tube.
