                        Powdered Indian Valerian differs from that of the European in the
                following:
                 1- The root hairs and endodermal cells are slightly lignified.
                 2- The cortical cells are elongated, 6-10 times as long as broad and the
                     starch granules are simple or compound with 2 components, and bigger, 4-
                     30 mostly 10-25 µ in diameter.
