Military service COBRA coverage
If you are a military reservist who is called to active duty for a period of
more than 30 days, you may continue coverage for yourself and your
eligible dependents for up to 18 months. If you elect to continue benefit
coverage, you will be responsible for paying the COBRA premium.
At the end of your period of active duty, any continued benefits will
cease on the earlier of:
› The day after the date that you fail to apply for or return to a
position of employment as determined in the Uniformed Services
Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994
› The end of the 18-month period beginning on the date that your
absence for military service begins, OR
› The date you return to work
On the date you return to work, coverage for you and your eligible
dependents will be on the same basis as provided for any other active
employee and his or her eligible dependents, in accordance with and
subject to the requirements set out in the Uniformed Services
Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994, 38 U.S.C. 4301
et seq.
