Financial Protection Benefits
Short-Term Disability
Company paid short-term disability insurance replaces a portion of an employee’s income
(based on years of service) for the first 90 days of an absence due to illness or injury. Full
time employees become eligible on their 91st day of work and disability payments follow a 14
day waiting period.
Long-Term Disability
Company paid long-term disability insurance replaces 60% of base salary due to an illness or
injury that extends beyond 90 days for full time employees. New hires have the option to
purchase supplemental coverage that would replace an additional 15% of their base salary.
Life Insurance
Full-time employees receive company-paid life and accidental death insurance equal to 1.5X
base salary, up to a $750,000 maximum. Full-time employees may purchase additional life
insurance for themselves and for their spouse, up to a $500,00 maximum, and for their
children up to age 26. The child life insurance benefit is $10,000.
Cancer Insurance
Full-time and part-time employees can purchase Texas Mutual’s AFLAC cancer insurance
for themselves, their spouse and their children up to age 26 through.
