First day
Greet your new hire upon their arrival to TXM
Enjoy lunch with your new hire
Explain logistics of how the team operates
Explain how to request an ergo evaluation for their work desk
Provide a tour of the building and your team’s lunch area, refrigerator, restrooms,
conference rooms, etc.
First week
Schedule a meeting to introduce your new hire to their Mutual Partner
Add new hire to regular team meetings and email distributions
Share your management style and expectations
Discuss communication preferences (phone, email, chat)
Review role, responsibilities and performance goals
Schedule weekly 1:1s with new hire
Introduce company programs and useful websites (TXM Today, Workday, YourCause,
TXM Appreciates You, Virgin Pulse, etc.)
First month
Schedule meetings for the new hire to meet key stakeholders across the company
Identify additional training and development activities needed in the next six months and
help them enroll
Define measurable career goals for the next few months or years
Discuss and schedule the 45 and 90-day check-in process with new hire
Deep dive into company programs/websites (sign up for a Virgin Pulse challenge,
YourCause volunteer opportunity, LinkedIn learning course, etc.)
Ongoing engagement
Is the new hire attending and participating in team activities?
Have you had a 45 and 90-day check-in with your new hire?
Is something coming up that you can ask your new hire about (big event, birthday,
anniversary)?
