I've done a fair bit of recording in
my own private studio. I don't
have the most top notch
equipment, I've basically just
done the best I could with what I
had available. I've enjoyed doing
the work my self and playing all
the instruments. I also do all the
vocals myself. This allowed me to
make my songs exactly the way I
envisioned them and could avoid
arguments and hassles from
other people. I'm working on
actually collaborating with others
and still putting together my live
show. I'm planning on getting
more experience playing live as
soon as possible.
I believe in doing meditation practices like quieting the mind, listening to
the stillness, and allowing inspiration to flow. I think that when you get
caught up in your head and start overthinking, you're musical prowess goes
plummeting. When you let your mind go still, you open yourself up to
receiving inspiration from somewhere beyond our physical reality. This can
also be applied to pretty much anything that requires intense focus.
Another thing I think is important is to be doing the things we're passionate
about. I've learned some important lessons along the way and one of them
is that "the universe reveals it's secrets to those who dare to follow their
hearts". If you don't have dreams or goals or a decent plan for your life,
someone else will decide for you.
