podcasts, streaming news and music. What role can radio still
play in providing entertainment and information?

As streaming replaces traditional radio formats, radio stations
face a challenge to remain relevant in an age of heightened
choice and content variability. Despite this transformation, radio
can remain a reliable, valuable and even vital service.

Radio still has an advantage over streaming services in terms of
reach. Services like podcasts, streaming news and music require
the listener to actively seek out content from a variety of

providers. Radio, on the other hand, can provide access to wide-
ranging content in a passive, easy to access manner. Many radio
listeners are less likely to actively seek out content themselves,
instead relying on radio stations for a breadth of content—music,
headlines, and more.
