K. L. Doty is a multifaceted and accomplished creative with a
vintage aesthetic and a unique background in academia, health
science, athleticism, and rock and roll. As an author, singer-
songwriter, and amateur boxer, K. L. Doty brings a diverse
range of experiences to her work. She is the owner and lead
K. L. Doty
K. L. Doty creative director of Lemon Sucker Studios and the songsmith
behind the alternative pop project Swan Maiden. The soon-to-
be-released album features legendary guest artists such as
Joel Hoekstra from Whitesnake, Night Ranger, Trans- Siberian
Orchestra, and Derek Sherinian, who has played with Alice
Cooper and Billy Idol.

Often described as the “Penny Lane” of our time, K. L. Doty’s
journey into the music industry began at a young age when she
posed as a 22-year-old music journalist at just 16. Her clever
ruse granted her backstage access to shows by Bob Dylan,
John Mayer, Ziggy Marley, and even touring with Ashlee
Simpson. This early exposure led to an unofficial internship at
Rolling Stone, where she learned the intricacies of the music
industry and journalism. Doty’s teenage years were marked by
a double life: wild parties with rock stars while also facing the
challenges of school.
