With the incredible artwork of Jolie Spelman, the
drumming, and the lessons, it was voted by
Educators, therapists and parents as the 2023
ROB Children’s Book of the Year in Social Emotional
Learning by Creative Child magazine.

LEYTHAM I am busier now drumming than I would have ever
been if I had become the drummer I wanted to be
back in the ‘80’s. I do therapy and drum with
incredible elementary aged students. I travel the
country and teach administrators how rhythm
affects a brain in trauma. I Still teach private drum
lessons at night, I started writing new SEL songs
for a possible book two, and spend my life with my
two wonderful children and my wife. Sometimes not
getting our dreams is better for us and society.
