Opened in 1461, the Grand Bazaar is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. Ranked as one of the most visited tourist attractions, the
Istanbul is Europe’s most populous city - home to 14 million inhabitants, which gives it an incredible hustle
and bustle as the locals go about their daily lives. There are endless things to do. Classic heritage sights include the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque and Topkapi Palace, home to numerous Sultans of the Ottoman Empire over the centuries.
If you can drag yourself away from the historic monuments and palaces, the city has a flourishing, vibrant and hugely popular arts and live music scene with an international appeal.
Bazaar has an incredible history. The numbers are simply staggering - 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops with thousands of employees. They say if you can’t find it in the Grand Bazaar, it’s not been made!

The Grand Bazaar is an absolute must visit experience but because of its size, it can be easy to get lost. Be sure to tell your clients that the exits are numbered and signed so that they take note of their exit number and return there otherwise they will end up in a different area of the city.
