For example, what might happen next in the sequence of the event and why it happened.Children beyond the age of eight and at Gestalt Language Processing Stages 5 and 6 are likely to benefit from support to develop beyond Blank Level 4 if this is not occurring naturally. Blank Level 5 (McLachlan. 2025) involves understanding a principle and being able to apply knowledge to novel situations both real and imaginary. Blank Level 5 is different because the child or young person is applying their knowledge across a range of scenarios whereas Blank Level 4 focuses on the immediate situation only. For more information see %u2018The Blank Language Scheme revisited%u2019. Blank Level 5 creates a bridge between the Blank Language Scheme and Bloom%u2019s Taxonomy because it includes the higher-order thinking skills (HOTs) of analysing, evaluating and creating. However, Blank Level 5 is different because Elklan%u2019s focus is to support children and young people with SLCN (speech, language and communication needs) and so while Blank Level 5 encourages thinking outside the box, this is firmly tethered to the ability of communicating the ideas and functioning within a group.
