Flat roofing system for you
There are two ways in which a flat roof is installed, depending on the use of the room beneath.
Warm roof system
A warm roof system is used above a habitable area meaning the room is used to live in. It could be used as a living room, dining room, bedroom or any other room that would have central heating. A warm roof system eliminates damp caused by condensation on the ceiling by using insulation. Cross ventilating the roof system allows air to flow through the roof.
Cold roof system
A cold roof system is used above an uninhabitable area such as a garage, shed or an outhouse. A cold roof works on the basis of not needing significant insulation between the joists or under the decking boards and does not require a vapour control layer. Most conventional flat roofs that
Findley's install are conducted this way.
