Flat roofing has always been a problem area for home insurance companies. All homeowners with a flat roof must declare the areas of flat roofing to their home insurance provider, normally this results in higher premiums.
Experience has taught us that some insurance companies will not pay out for storm damage to a flat roof. Other companies will pay out if the roof is younger than five years old or in some cases seven years old.
With EPDM, we have found that some insurance companies will reduce premiums if EPDM is fitted to a flat roof by a reputable firm. This is based on the guarantees that come with a flat roof and how durable the material is.
