Cavity wall ties
Cavity wall ties have been used in the building industry for around 80 years - sadly, most early construction properties were not installed with cavity wall ties or these were done poorly with the wrong materials.
Findley's conduct many thousands of cavity wall tie replacements every year to customers who are badly affected by moving brickwork or inner and outerleaf movement, resulting in noticeable cracks.
Cavity wall ties are there to strengthen the building by tying the inner and outerleaf of brickwork/blockwork together. They are most often required on buildings predating
the 1970s.
Nowadays, your local authority building control officers police the construction of new builds with a fierce compliance requirement of installing quality, stainless steel or tungston cavity wall ties. These are the ties that Findley's install every year to older properties retrospectively.
The charge per brick tie is
£38 each
installed and fitted.
Average five needed per m2 of brickwork. Price includes VAT.
