Brick replacements
Brickwork sealant
Brickwork can be sealed with a unique two coat system to protect against frost and water damage by using commercial grade Thompson’s water sealant at a further £35 per m2.
Step 1:
Full building grind out using mechanical, diamond tipped mortar raking blades. Coupled with state of the art dust extraction to reduce noise and mess.
Health and safety regulations now require that silica dust and toxic lime mortar is removed with minimum disruption to neighbours and surrounding areas.
Step 2:
Clean down and prepare for repointing. A stronger mix of three parts sand, one part cement with lime content is used to ensure a longer lasting mortar joint.
This sand and cement mix must be mixed onsite by the same operative to ensure consistency of colour and strength. Plasticiser and frost proofer maybe added at this stage to give extra protection.
Step 3:
Hand pointed throughout the whole building by experienced brickworking experts. As this is a highly specialised and highly skilled trade discipline, Findley’s have only six qualified staff out of 68 capable of conducting these works.
Customers wishing to upgrade damaged brickwork can have individual bricks replaced at a cost of £50 per brick.
