Ben Davidson and Melissa Petros
10 years to the top
A Birmingham estate agency
is about to celebrate the 10th anniversary of an associate director whose local knowledge helped establish and build the business over the last decade.
Melissa Petros joined Davidson Estates in Edgbastonas a lettings negotiator and viewer working just two days a week back in June 2012.
Her local knowledge of properties around the area soon proved its value, earning her the role as associate director at the firm.
Ben Davidson, the founder and managing director of Davidson Estates, interviewed Ms Petros back in 2012 and offered her the job the very next day.
He said: “Melissa was a great find and is responsible for a
major part of Davidson Estate’s expansion, reputation and quality.
“She just knows the Edgbaston market so well and, since this prime suburb is such a vital part of the company, her knowledge has
been crucial for our growth.
“It really doesn’t feel like 10 years
as time always flies when you’re enjoying yourself,” said Melissa. She added: “I’m proud of how
my local knowledge helped the business and together we’ve built an established company. that has such a good reputation across Edgbaston and the wider city.”
All change at Centrick
Property specialist Centrick has announced a restructure of its Midlands sales and lettings division as it aims to deliver higher service standards for home owners, tenants and landlords.
Five new roles have been created, covering offices in Birmingham, Solihull and Nottingham, to enable its teams to deliver streamlined services, promote innovation and improve customer satisfaction.
Birmingham-based Centrick’s group managing director Phil Johns said the continued growth of the ambitious company had led to the need for a restructure of the management of its branches.
“We have grown our business year on year and what we found recently was that we had all the right ingredients of expertise and passion and experience, but some of those ingredients were in the wrong places. After a full internal review, we have decided to move to a fully fledged branch model, where all
of the services we provide will
sit within the governance of the branch managers.”
Of the five new roles within
the business, four have been filled through internal promotion. They include Chris Whiley, group projects director, group sales and lettings, Stuart Macdiarmid, now area director, group sales, Katie Vassar, now area director, group lettings, and Shelley Wootton, now Solihull lettings manager. Sophie Harmer- Knight joins the company in the new role of lettings manager in Birmingham.
First opening its doors in 2005, the agency now has over 20,000 properties across the UK on its books and manages over £3 billion in client assets.
In another change, ex-Savills Hong Kong Director, Victor Chow,
Beresfords Group bids fond farewell to sales director Sales Director, Mike Sayers, has retired from Essex-based estate agent, Beresford Group, after
35 years at the helm.
Mike, who sat on the residential
sales and financial services boards at Beresfords, joined the business back in 1987 as manager of its Brentwood Office.
Having lived and worked in the
Paul Beresford and Mike Sayers
area for many years, Mike built up the branch quickly which cemented Beresfords’ position as a leading agent in the area.
From Brentwood, Mike led both the Brentwood and Shenfield branches in his director role, before moving into an area director position in Havering. He then took up his role of sales director for the group.
Mike was also integral to building Beresfords’ financial services and mortgage company, Flagstone.
Paul Beresford, CEO of Beresfords Group, said: “Mike is a colleague
and dear friend who has played an enormous part in the success of Beresfords, both in terms of our growth and portfolio but also our team and culture.
“It has been a real privilege working with him over the last
35 years. Myself and the wider group have always been inspired by his work ethic, commitment and his approach to roll his sleeves up and support wherever is needed. There is no question that without his
input and focus, Beresfords wouldn’t be where it is today. I personally want to thank him for being such
a dedicated and tenacious team player and for his outstanding contribution to the business. He will be missed by all, but we are pleased and excited for him as he moves into retirement - which if I know Mike - will be spent with his family, on the golf course and enjoying travel.”
