         The other rules are:
         (a) If clauses and endorsements are attached to the

              policy, they will override the printed matter in the
              body of the policy; typewritten matter will override
              printed matter and hand- written will override all
              other matter.

         (b) The words used in the policy are to be given their
              plain, ordinary and popular meaning. However,
              technical terms have to be construed according to
              their technical definitions. Again if the words have
              acquired special meaning by reason of statutory
              enactment, judicial decision, mercantile use etc, such
              meaning will apply. But, all these rules are
              overridden if the policy provides its own specific
              definition.

         (c) The ordinary rules of grammar and punctuation will
              apply.

         (d) Whenever there is any ambiguity in the policy or
              any doubt arises as to the meaning and effect of
              the words used, the court gives the benefit of doubt
