United Bank of India celebrates International Women's Day

United Bank of India celebrated International
Women's Day on 8th March 2017 at Bank's Head
Office, Kolkata. The function was graced by
benign presence of Shri K V Rama Moorthy,
Executive Director and his wife Smt. V Rani, Sri
Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Executive Director, Senior
Executives of the Bank and their wives and all the
female employees of Head Office.
Speaking on the occasion our Executive Director
Sri K V Rama Moorthy said that Bank is concerned
towards providing a congenial and secured work
environment for the female employees of the
Bank. Also, due thrust and focus is laid by the
Bank for empowering women by extending loans
to Women Entrepreneurs under Stand up India
Program of Govt. of India for setting up their own
establishment. Bank has already achieved the target of achieving 5% of the total priority sector advance for women
borrowers.
Sri Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Executive Director of the Bank also talked on this occasion and said that women employees of
the Bank should be empowered for progress and growth of the Bank and also to shoulder new responsibilities to achieve
the goal in every spheres of Life.
Smt. Sunanda Basu, General Manager, also welcomed the participants and narrated the significance of celebration of
Women's Day. As a part of empowering women she stated that considering the asymmetrical ratio of women at managerial
and officer level cadre in past, Bank has recruited around 1163 number of female employees in the last 5 years. A good
number of female officers were also recruited under specialized verticals like Marketing, IT, Risk Management, Law,
Engineering etc. At present, the total women workforce comprises 21.04% of the total staff strength of the Bank.
As a part of Social Welfare Activity a donation was given to an Organization named "Behala Anwesha The Quest" engaged
in the activity of Development of Mentally Challenged People. Celebration of International Women's Day concluded with
a Cultural Program which was presented by the women employees of the Bank.

HUDCO Observes International

Women's Day
HUDCO observed the International Women's Day on
8th March, 2017 in keeping with the United Nations
theme for this year "Be Bold for Change", under the
chairmanship of Dr. M Ravi Kanth, Chairman &
Managing Director, HUDCO.
In an interactive session women employees were given
an opportunity to share their views in improving the
working environment and the overall welfare of
women employees.
