This study explores the intricate relationship between financial inclusion and healthcare access in
the context of households in Dhaka, Tangail, and Meherpur. The research analyses key aspects, including
household profiles, expenditure status, health insurance coverage, and health-seeking behaviour. Findings
reveal limited health insurance penetration, with only 6.1% of households having coverage, and a lack of
awareness about available services. Financial literacy and tailored health insurance products emerge as
potential solutions to address the challenges faced by families. The study highlights the potential of
technology, such as tele-health services, to enhance healthcare accessibility. Additionally, promoting
inclusive decision-making in healthcare and ensuring affordability of treatment costs are crucial steps
towards advancing financial inclusion in the health sector. By addressing these issues, stakeholders can
work towards improving healthcare access and financial security for households in the studied regions.
