Mr Agarwal is the founding president of Risk Management Association of India.
He envisioned the idea of forming a platform for risk professionals around 25
years back. Since then he has been relentlessly following his dreams to build a
vibrant organization of people who can exchange and gather knowledge in the arena of Risk
Management. He founded the Insurance Times Group way back in 1981 to promote education
and awareness in insurance industry in India. He has also been instrumental in formation of
Insurance Consumer Forum of India, an NGO engaged in offering free advisory services to
consumers.
Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit K Chattoraj
Professor & Chairperson-Centre for Insurance and Risk Management,
BIMTECH
Dr. Abhijit K. Chattoraj is the Professor and Chairperson at Centre of Insurance &
Risk Management. His teaching and research interests are mainly in the areas of
health insurance, automobile and liability insurance and marketing. Prior to
joining BIMTECH, he headed Amity Business School, Amity University, and
Mumbai right from its inception. He was also associated with National Insurance Academy, Pune
as a faculty member and also as chairperson PGDM and students’ welfare. He has more than 25
years. Industry experience with a reputed public sector insurance company He has extensive
experience in management and Insurance teaching and training and is an acknowledged trainer-
coach, facilitator, mentor in health insurance and other domain of general insurance. He was also
a consultant for NIA in the health insurance Scheme for Government of Maharashtra – popularly
known as Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandai Arogya Yojana (RGJAY). He is a keen researcher and has been
engaged with the insurance industry with several research projects.
