and not the Export Bills Department.

I requested the Branch Head to clear my name from this error and advise
the Head Office in India not to initiate any disciplinary proceedings against
me. I also spoke to some colleagues in Head Office to update them on
the status of enquiry made by me and results thereof. And the case got
dropped.

Insights from the episode

1. Sometimes, unfortunately though, the blame is put on wrong party,
yet the evidence supports the process of justice.
2. All's well that ends well! By grace of Almighty, I could clear my name
and avoid the risk of stoppage of pension.
3. We must do our duty diligently. This will protect the interest of the
organization. If the organization's interest is protected, automatically
our interest gets firewalled.
