           This idyllic island is 2km off the shore of mainland Tanzania, opposite the historical town of

           Bagamoyo,  north  of  Dar  es  Salaam.  A  sand  spit  protected  by  a  coral  reef,  the  island  is
           inaccessible by land at all times, thus maintains it’s exclusivity to guests of Lazy Lagoon. The

           coral reef surrounding the island offers a great opportunity for snorkelling off the beach.
           Being an island, Lazy Lagoon is quite unique with sea swimming possible at all tides. The

           island has an  interesting  ecosystem,  with many  small mammal such  as bush  babies, suni
           antelope and bush pig, plus birds and butterflies. Low tide washes up a plethora or exotically

                                                 Getting There


             Lazy Lagoon is 70km north of Dar es Salaam and can only be reached by boat from the

                   mainland accessed from Mbegani Fisheries institute. Car parking is available.

           Safari Air Link run scheduled flights to the airstrip on the mainland from all National Parks.
