Recently, the community was shocked by a spike in cases of
Diabetes Melletus (DM) in children which reached 70 times
higher than in 2010. The Indonesian Pediatrician Association
(IDAI), noted that the number of DM cases in children until 2023
reached 1,645 people. , which are scattered in several regions in
Indonesia.
From the findings of these cases 46.23% of them were
experienced by children aged 10-14 years. 31.05% of
children aged 5-9 years. 19% in 0-4 years and 3% in
children over 14 years. Most cases of DM in children
are congenital, but most parents do not know their
child is experiencing DM.
