Purpose
The purpose of the present study was to assess the
postural workload associated with digestive
endoscopic examinations in order to improve the
layout of the endoscopy room. Method
The methods included a socio-demographic
questionnaire, a visual analogue scale for
ABSTRAK assessing the individual perception of the level
of postural discomfort and the complete
videotape record of all procedures with two
simultaneous cameras (anteroposterior and
Result horizontal plans) in order to register the
postural behaviour of the subjects during the
endoscopic examinations.
The results of the postural profile of doctors
performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopies shown
that postures with cervical right rotation were adopted
in 77% of the analyzing time and postures with cervical
extension during 28,8% of the time.
