DIGITAL PRESERVATION OF COURT RECORDS

Objective:-

 Digital preservation of judicial records to cover digitized as well as
born digital data (computer generated electronic records) and

address the looming challenges and threats of rapid technological

obsolescence.

 Envisage an interoperable implementation model and trustworthy

mechanism for digital preservation of records for the Supreme Court
of India, 25 High Courts and 672 district courts for boosting efficiency,

consistency and exchange of records / data between judicial entities.

 Provide coverage to all major aspects of digital preservation, as

defined by the international standards. The document incorporates

select ISO standards which are globally accepted, auditable,
recognized as best practices and are readily available.

 Create Judicial Digital Repositories (JDRs), which will be audited and
certified as per ISO 16363 for trustworthiness, interoperability and

reliability
